Ashley Cole, the former England defender, expressed that Cristiano Ronaldo was the most challenging adversary he ever encountered.

Cole shared this during his induction into the Premier League Hall of Fame. The ex-fullback, who played for Arsenal and Chelsea, described Ronaldo as a well-rounded footballer who caused him great difficulties on the field.
Cole acknowledged their mutual respect and highlighted Ronaldo’s determination to become the best player in the world, praising his diverse skill set and the nightmares he caused defenders like himself.
Cole humorously recalled a particular incident where Ronaldo made him do the splits during his first Premier League season in 2003/04.
