Ayodeji Makun, a popular comedian better known by his stage name AY, has stated that he has been in the entertainment business for 25 years and that his ascent to fame was gradual.
In the most recent episode of the TokeMoments podcast, which is hosted by media personality Toke Makinwa, the renowned director described his professional journey.
He said that after graduating from Delta State University, Abraka, he started his profession as a show promoter by planning a school beauty pageant.

Before heading backstage, AY stated that he had created contestants for the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant, as well as those who represented Nigeria at Miss World.
He continued by saying that he was also Miss Commonwealth’s assistant pageant manager.
AY recalls “pray[ing]” to become as well-known as seasoned comic Alibaba while serving as his Personal Assistant (PA).
“I was the personal assistant to Alibaba, the king of humour, and we used to travel all over the place. People wanted to take pictures with Alibaba at the airport. I was there, seizing his phones with my tiny bag. I prayed for it even though I didn’t see it coming. Back then, it was merely a place of prayer supported by laborious work,” he recounted.
