According to Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would keep his promises to Nigerians, which is why he decided to become a minister.
On Monday, he gave a speech at the official start of road reconstruction work in the Garki neighbourhood of Abuja.
The minister further promised that Tinubu is aware of Nigerians’ suffering and that the rekindled hope was not just words.
Wike stated: “The FCT minister of state and I are here to reassure you that Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda succeeds and to let you know that the FCT is operating effectively.
“Mr. President’s agenda includes both speaking and acting, not just talking. And because of that, we have decided to start by blocking off a few routes in this area.
This is only the first stage. Phase two will begin in the coming weeks. Road infrastructure is the topic here. Mr. President has made numerous promises. We’re taking them one at a time.
I previously stated that if anything did not work, I would not be a party, but because I know Mr. President has good intentions for our nation and desires the best for it, I said I would serve in his cabinet because he has demonstrated this to Nigerians by demonstrating his empathy for their plight.
