I continue to be wholly loyal to Obaseki. Amid Tension With the Governor, Shaibu Declares
“I am still completely committed to the governor. Everyone appears to be acting in unison, in my opinion. Like the governor, I support him. Additionally, I hereby reaffirm my solemn allegiance to the governor.
Governor Godwin Obaseki’s principal deputy, Philip Shaibu, has reaffirmed his support to him.
Along with efforts for Shaibu’s impeachment, Obaseki had lately accused his deputy of preparing a coup against him, further widening the breach between the two.
Shaibu has chosen not to address Obaseki in the media, however, and has minimised the conflict.

I definitely wouldn’t want to talk about the concerns that were there in the community while I was abroad. I don’t typically talk to the camera about issues that affect my governor. Absolutely not! I don’t think I should talk to him about anything because he is both my older brother and my boss. Furthermore, I believe that it is best to resolve any conflicts I have with him privately rather than in public. At a thanksgiving service conducted in Benin to commemorate the 32nd anniversary of Edo State, he declared, “I was well raised.
“From my experience as a Christian, I can assure you that you must carry out a pledge you make to God. And I have vowed to God that I will continue to support Godwin Obaseki as governor of Edo State during his tenure in office.
But it does not put a stop to anything ambitious. Loyalty is unaffected by ambition since ambition is personal. I’m still completely devoted to the governor. Everyone appears to be acting in unison, in my opinion. Like the governor, I support him. Additionally, I hereby reaffirm my solemn allegiance to the governor.
At the interreligious church service on Sunday, Obaseki noted the state’s enormous progress since its founding, which was held at the Government House in the state capital of Edo.
Despite the state’s variety in terms of ethnicity and religion, Governor Obaseki is urging residents to band together to improve the future of Edo State.
