The Nyanya-based petitioner made these claims against his wife in a court-filed divorce petition.
“I no longer feel safe in my own home. I advised my wife to go back to the church we’ve attended since we got married fifteen years ago, and she has attempted to kill me multiple times since.
She wanted to attack me the first time I saw her with a cutlass, but I was fortunate enough to catch her hand and take the weapon away from her.
She attempted to grab my penis again but was unsuccessful. My kids saved me from her when she had a firm grip on my neck, he added.
Additionally, he told the court that because the respondent is constantly at church, she no longer fulfils her position as a wife in the family.
Mary, the respondent and a cleaner, refuted the accusations.
Doocivir Yawe, the presiding judge, suggested that the couple get back together for the benefit of the kids and postponed the case to January 16 in order to get a report on a settlement or to continue the hearing.
