How I received $30 million for aiding the govt in bank money recovery – Afe Babalola

Renowned legal expert, Afe Babalola, has disclosed some of the substantial legal fees he has received from clients.

In one instance, he was paid $30 million for his assistance in the government’s recovery of $300 million from banks. Additionally, Babalola mentioned that he charged Mobile $5 million for handling an appeal case for them in the 1980s. Initially, Mobile rejected his fee and hired another Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in Lagos who charged them N500,000, but unfortunately, they lost the case.

However, Mobile later approached Babalola again, acknowledging their mistake and requesting his services. Babalola agreed to represent them, maintaining his original fee.

He not only received the payment but also emerged victorious in the case, solidifying his position as their trusted legal advisor.
