The police in Katsina State have detained 18-year-old housewife Maryam Habibu after she is accused of drowning her 4-year-old stepson in a well in the state’s Kafur Local Government Area.
Habibu, a resident of Leko Village in the Danja Local Government Area, was displayed on Friday at the Police Command Headquarters in Katsina alongside 11 other suspects detained for a variety of offenses, including banditry, abduction, and livestock rustling.
During the parade, SP Gambo Isah, the command’s spokeswoman, briefed reporters and said that the teenage housewife was taken into custody on November 9, 2022.
He continued by saying that she reportedly enticed the youngster outside before dropping him into a well.
