Ishaku Saidu, 25, was sentenced to six months in jail by an Area Court in Jos on Thursday for stealing various household items worth N2.3 million.
After the defendant entered a guilty plea and requested leniency from the court, Judge Shawomi Bokkos punished him.

Additionally, he offered the guilty man a N20,000 punishment and demanded that he reimburse the complainant for N2,396,000, failing which he would be sentenced to 12 months in prison.
Simi Gyang reported the case to the Anglo Jos Police Station on September 7, according to police prosecutor Insp. Ibrahim Gokwat, who had told the court this information.
She said that after breaking into her home, the accused took a number of things, including a blender, pumping machine, window drapes, smart TV, and home theatre.
During the police inquiry, the accused admitted to committing the act, the prosecution further informed the court.
According to him, the crime was against the Northern Nigerian Plateau State Penal Code.
