President Bola Tinubu’s request to extend the capital portion of the 2023 Appropriations Act and the Supplementary Appropriations Act until December 31, 2024, led the House of Representatives into a boisterous session on Thursday.
Tinubu stated that the extension is essential to guaranteeing that the government completes some of the projects in the two budgets in a letter that Speaker Abbas Tajudeen read aloud.

To enable the complete implementation of the law, Tinubu requests an extension of the two budgets until December 31st.
However, Tinubu’s call divided the parliamentarians, with opposition members disapproving of the idea.
Members’ loud jeers prompted the opposition to call a boisterous meeting of the MPs.
