A medical professional named Dr. Currency, who practices at the Federal Teaching Hospital in Lokoja, has disclosed that a group of individuals thrashed hospital employees while they were on duty after forcibly entering the facility in response to a patient’s death.

On his X handle, #k_f2d, he recounted the incident, writing, “My team was called to the A&E to review a new patient.” Men from Kaftan smashed past the fence and began requesting the doctors who were on duty.

They seem to have lost a patient. And the physicians were their target. I found out that one of them is a political figurehead.

“I didn’t know the patient, so I was staring at them, perplexed. The leader stoned his phones at me the next thing I knew. There were only three physicians present. From there, we got up and went inside.

They forced entry into the room where we were, grabbed my male coworker and myself, and nearly tore our shirts. I couldn’t even think to talk. There were a tonne of them. We succeeded in escaping the A&E and headed to a different ward.

In his post, the doctor said that the men started to damage hospital property and attack staff, and that the Chief Security Officer confronted them with a revolver because they had turned aggressive.

“They took the pistol away from the man, and in the process, multiple rounds were fired. The gate to the hospital was locked. Right now, we’re hiding throughout the hospital in various places. The hospital security guards are no longer armed. I don’t feel secure.

Amid the hubbub, I managed to get this on camera. The Federal Teaching Hospital in Lokoja is the location of this. As of right now, we remain hidden.
