Hoodlums neutralized by NPF in Ughelli-Ohoro forest
The Nigeria Police Force has reported the successful recovery of 10 out of the 13 police arms that were stolen by attackers in Ohoro Forest, Ughelli, Delta State, where some police officers were ambushed and killed.
The announcement was made by the Force Headquarters in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
ACP Adejobi highlighted that the recovery was made possible through the implementation of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun’s directive on enhancing intelligence gathering and sharing for more effective operational deployments.
The Force Intelligence Department Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT) played a crucial role in the operation, making significant progress in the fight against crime and the restoration of security in Delta State and its environs.

The statement detailed that the rifles were retrieved during a well-coordinated operation carried out by the FID-IRT operatives, who confronted the suspects in a gun battle resulting in the elimination of some of the criminals.
It was further disclosed that the police team successfully recovered 10 of the stolen firearms and seized additional weapons used by the assailants.
Furthermore, the Nigeria Police Force disclosed that it has effectively tackled the kidnapping challenges on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway by apprehending six members of a notorious kidnapping gang that had been causing terror in the region.
The arrested suspects are currently in custody, providing valuable information to aid ongoing investigations.
The statement concluded by assuring the public that under the leadership of IGP Egbetokun, the police force will continue to utilize all necessary strategies to combat criminal activities nationwide, emphasizing that the safety and security of Nigerian citizens remain the top priority.
