Hoodlums Attack APC Secretariat Amid EndBadGovernance Protest
The APC secretariat in Rivers was attacked by hoodlums during the EndBadGovernance protest, raising party concerns.
On Tuesday, while the #EndBadGovernance protest persisted in certain regions of the nation, a significant grouping of individuals believed to be thugs assaulted Rivers State’s All Progressive Congress (APC) headquarters.
During the protest, the facility situated along Port Harcourt-Aba Road was invaded by hoodlums who wreaked havoc on its entrance gate and canopies that acted as a shield for security personnel. Additionally, they demolished the party’s huge billboard.
While addressing journalists in Port Harcourt, Chief Tony Okocha, the chairman of the party’s Caretaker Committee in the state affirmed this.
According to Okocha, the hoodlums were financed by individuals with a motive of stifling the party’s voice in that region; he disclosed that those allegedly responsible for funding them had been exposed.
Today, we are facing the problem of hoodlums sponsored by a known source vandalizing the APC Secretariat located on Port Harcourt-Aba Express Road in Port Harcourt.
Due to the highly political nature of the situation, we are not hesitant in revealing our source. It raises a valid question as to why only APC was targeted for destruction.
Despite the countless attacks, we in APC remain resolute in our commitment to represent and fight for the people of Rivers State. Our staunch opposition towards a government exhibiting cluelessness will not waver. These attacks cannot impede us.
He said that despite the destruction of the Rivers State House of Assembly, it did not prevent them from holding sessions.
