Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), emphasized the importance of honoring the members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defending the country.
He highlighted the significance of maintaining the joint air, ground, and maritime strikes against terrorists, insurgents, economic saboteurs, and other non-state actors as a way to pay tribute to these fallen heroes.
The CAS expressed his appreciation to the Air Component Commanders for their successful air strikes in various joint theatres of operation throughout the year 2024.
He specifically mentioned the recent air interdiction strikes near Lake Chad, which resulted in the elimination of several terrorists and the destruction of their vehicles and structures.
Air Marshal Abubakar acknowledged that while the nation can never fully repay the fallen heroes, it is crucial to continue efforts in restoring peace and tranquility across the country.
He emphasized the need to fulfill their mandate and maintain the momentum of operations, ensuring that citizens can go about their daily lives without fear.
The CAS also called on all Nigerians to express gratitude, goodwill, solidarity, and unwavering prayers for the fallen heroes and their families.
