Hezbollah Could Launch Strike on Israel Soon, Says CNN

It has been reported that the Jewish state is willing to respond with an “unbalanced” reaction if faced with potential aggression from the Lebanon-based militia.
Sources familiar with the matter have informed CNN that Hezbollah could conduct a solo attack on Israel prior to Iran.
After the killing of prominent figures, both Iran and the Islamist movement located in Lebanon have issued warnings to retaliate against Israel.
According to a source cited by CNN, Hezbollah is taking quicker action in its planning and could attack Israel within days. In contrast, Iran seems to still be figuring out their plan of response.
In late July, Israel announced that it had eliminated Fu’ad Shukr, the top military commander of Hezbollah in a strike on Beirut. It is widely speculated that Israel was also responsible for assassinating Ismail Haniyeh, Hamas’s political leader in Tehran. Although they have refrained from confirming their involvement in Haniyeh’s death previously warned to eliminate Palestinian militant group leaders and hence seem likely culprits behind this tragedy too.
According to a source from CNN, Hezbollah is capable of launching an attack on Israel with very short notice because they are located directly north of the country.
Israeli officials told Axios on Wednesday that in the event of harm to Israeli civilians by the Lebanese-based group as a retaliatory action, West Jerusalem has warned about an excessively disproportionate response from Israel’s Defense Force.
A recent report from Politico suggests that Iran is potentially reassessing its plans to launch a major assault on Israel. Senior US officials have indicated that the Biden administration has utilized diplomatic means in attempt to dissuade Tehran from initiating a multi-pronged attack, stressing the threat of an outright war between both nations. Earlier reports had suggested that Iran was poised for action against Israel as early as Monday.
The provocative killing of Ismail Haniyeh has elicited a vehement reprimand from Russia, which cautions that his demise could obstruct the ongoing discussions for truce between Hamas and Israel, and even instigate an abrupt surge in tensions across the area.
Iran launched numerous missiles and drones at Israel in April, retaliating against the Israeli strike on its Syrian consulate. Despite mostly being countered by Israel’s Iron Dome defense systems, some missiles caused minimal damage to military installations before reaching their targets.
