On Monday in Niger State, a MI-171 helicopter belonging to the Nigerian Air Force went down while transporting injured people.

“The plane had taken off from Zungeru Primary School headed for Kaduna, but it was later found to have crashed close to Chukuba Village in Niger State’s Shiroro Local Government Area.

The statement said, “Efforts are presently being made to rescue the crew and passengers aboard the helicopter, while preliminary investigations have started to ascertain the probable reason of the incident.

Seven NAF personnel were killed on February 22, 2021, when their plane crashed shortly after takeoff from Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport while they were travelling from Abuja to Minna, the capital of Niger State.
