Eddie Hearn has said that if Anthony Joshua loses his next fight, that will be the end of his career.
On April 1, the 33-year-old will make a comeback appearance in the ring at the O2 Arena.
He lost to Oleksandr Usyk twice most recently, giving him three losses in his previous five matches after losing to Andy Ruiz Jr. in the first of their two meetings.
Joshua is now set to fight a tune-up fight as he tries to get back in shape and gain his confidence.
The pressure is on since AJ’s promoter thinks his career is over if he loses to a possibly lesser-known opponent.
“You go into that fight in April knowing it’s really all over,” Hearn told iFL TV.
It would be the third straight loss, but a strong showing and a showroom knockout would have everyone exclaiming, “We’re back, baby.”
“I’m looking forward to that because I enjoy it when we’re up against a wall.
“I’m eager. I’m quite enthusiastic. I’ve never been more thrilled about Joshua’s adventure as I am right now.
According to reports, the Watford-born heavyweight will face Demsey McKean in April.
We are one of the front-runners for a potential opponent for Anthony Joshua, as the Australian informed Sky Sports.
I am quite certain that I can be the one to replace Joshua.
The Matchroom boss is already considering follow-up fights with AJ and Hearn, hopeful of victories.
Joshua is considering a rematch with Dillian Whyte because he wants a huge fight in the summer.
