Health: Cross River wants to work more closely with USAID
In order to attain Universal Health Coverage (UHC), the government of Cross River State has reiterated its desire to work closely with the United States Agency for International Development, USAID.
When the USAID delegation visited Dr. Henry Egbe Ayuk in his office in Calabar, the commissioner for health made this disclosure.
He informed them that Gov. Bassey Otu’s government is committed to creating a climate that is favourable for long-lasting and fruitful partnerships.
“We’ll collaborate with you. We’ll be incredibly demanding. We want to discuss your goals in order to discover common ground. Let us know what they are.
“My dear colleagues, if we are to change anything, it must start with you. Performance should be the basis of our partnership, the Commissioner said.
Additionally, Ayuk pleaded with the partners to ensure that healthcare services were upgraded, to increase private sector involvement, to improve general hospital services, and to draw financing that would lead to the State’s adoption of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

They pledged to continue supporting pressing causes, particularly the advancement of healthcare.
