Hausa-Fulani Clash Claims Lives in Sokoto: Four Feared Dead

A conflict between the Hausa and Fulani communities in the Gudu local government area of Sokoto State has resulted in the deaths of four individuals, as reported by the local government chairman, Alhaji Umma Maikano.

The incident took place near the Nigeria/Nigeria border in Jimjimi on a Saturday, but the police have not provided any explanation for the violence.

An anonymous herder revealed that the conflict began when Hausa individuals accused the Fulanis of being responsible for the disappearance of two of their own, leading to retaliatory violence.

However, the council chairman stated that the root cause of the clash was a land dispute between Fulani herders and Hausa farmers, resulting in casualties on both sides.
