NBS has identified the three most affordable states to live in Nigeria, offering relief amid rising hardship and economic challenges.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Benue, Delta and Borno states are ranked as the three most affordable states in Nigeria.
On Thursday, NBS unveiled its Consumer Price Index and Inflation Data for July which revealed that Benue, Delta, and Borno experienced the least increase in Headline Inflation on a yearly comparison.
On a year-on-year basis, the headline inflation for Benue was 27.28 percent while Delta’s stood at 28.06 percent and Borno’s was recorded as 28.33 percent.

Taraba, Kwara and Ondo had the lowest month-on-month increase in headline inflation rates at 0.17 percent, 0.62 percent and 0.91 percent respectively.
On the other hand, Abuja experienced a 3.91 percent increase, while Borno and Enugu had respective increases of 3.84 and 3.76 percent – the highest among all locations mentioned.
According to information unveiled by NBS, Nigeria’s headline inflation rate decreased to 33.90 percent in July, marking the first decline since it was recorded at 21.34 percent way back in 2022; OBASANJONEWS previously reported on this development.
In the same vein, the NBS indicated that a decrease in prices of staple foods such as garri and fufu resulted in a decline in food inflation from 40.87 percent to 39.53 percent between June and July.
