Chieftain of the APC, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has slammed his party, former Governor Matawalle, and activist Omoyele Sowore for their remarks against former minister Rotimi Amaechi, defending Amaechi’s role amid Nigeria’s economic challenges.

Former National Publicity Secretary of the now-defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP) and ally of Chibuike Amaechi, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has criticized the negative responses to advice given by the former Transportation Minister regarding Nigeria’s current hardships.

According to reports, Amaechi recently expressed anger in an interview over how Nigerians are reacting to the current economic challenges.

Amaechi expressed his expectations that youths would take to the streets in protest against the high cost of living. However, he noted that there has been no indication so far that they are truly taking this issue seriously.

“People have every right to be upset; you can’t just stand by while a group of individuals steals your money,” Amaechi stated.

I am truly frustrated with the citizens because they aren’t taking any action.

“Consider what occurred in Edo State; is there any reason for a politician to be campaigning there?”

In their individual responses, Omoyele Sowore, Bello Matawalle, Bayo Onanuga, Senator Shehu Sani and the APC via Felix Morka all criticized Amaechi.

Eze, a frequent spokesperson for Amaechi, questioned what mistakes the former Transportation Minister could have made to prompt such reactions from the politicians.

Eze questioned why Sowore and his group are advocating for a revolution if it was wrong for Amaechi to express his frustration about the country’s dismal state.

“Indeed, for any rational Nigerian, Amaechi hasn’t made a mistake in his statement,” he said.

What makes it especially challenging for Sowore, Morka, Mattawalle, Sani, and Onanuga to grasp Amaechi’s genuine expression?

“Aren’t Nigerians facing the consequences of Tinubu administration’s ineffective policies?”

What indications suggest that the administration is committed to addressing the concerns and frustrations of Nigerians?

Wasn’t it just a few days ago that President Bola Tinubu’s APC government raised the fuel pump price to over one thousand Naira, without taking action to address the resulting poverty, insecurity, and fatalities?

It is unpatriotic and deeply wrong for the APC, Sowore, and the Tinubu government to expect people like Amaechi to be sidelined as mere bystanders while Nigeria faces complex challenges that threaten its stability.

In fact, if patriotic Nigerians like Amaechi stay silent about the ongoing economic crisis caused by the reckless actions of Tinubu’s government, Nigeria will collapse and remain irreparably so.

The relentless stream of unfounded media attacks directed at Amaechi by the Tinubu administration and APC, in response to his genuine concerns about the state of the nation is deplorable.

reveals the government’s scheme to maintain poverty and use it as a strategic tool for 2027, raising significant concerns.

It would have been appreciated if the presidency had communicated to Nigerians the administration’s policy approach for steering the country out of its current difficulties, instead of offering trivial responses as a defense against the disappointing outcomes that have persisted since its inception.

There’s no need to remind the Tinubu administration that it was during Amaechi’s tenure as Governor when Port Harcourt surpassed competing cities from the western world to win the title of World Book Capital.
