Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad, has issued a warning stating that the Palestinian militant group Hamas is operating a network of operatives with the intention of carrying out terrorist attacks in European countries.
This statement follows the recent arrest of seven individuals in Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands, who were suspected of planning to target Jewish sites. Mossad and the Israel Security Agency, in a statement released by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office, emphasized that Hamas is expanding its violent activities abroad in order to harm innocent people worldwide.
The militants had planned to attack the Israeli Embassy in Sweden and were also seeking to acquire drones. Israeli officials have revealed that the suspects arrested in Europe were part of a larger Hamas network that was being coordinated from Lebanon.
They further stated that Hamas had intended to collaborate with criminal organizations on the continent. Danish authorities have confirmed that the case is linked to Hamas, although the group itself has not commented on the matter. It is worth noting that Hamas has previously claimed to only carry out attacks in Israel, the Gaza Strip, and the West Bank.
As Israel commemorates 100 days since its conflict with Hamas began, Prime Minister Netanyahu reiterated that the operation in Gaza will persist until all threats from Hamas are completely neutralized.
He expressed determination, stating that no external factors, including the International Court of Justice, would hinder Israel’s efforts. Israel has vehemently denied allegations of indiscriminate killings of Palestinians during the conflict.
The conflict between Israel and Hamas reignited on October 7th, following an unexpected assault by Palestinian militants in southern Israel.
This assault resulted in the loss of approximately 1,200 lives and the capture of over 200 individuals. In response, Israel declared war on Hamas and made a firm commitment to eliminate the group entirely.
Tragically, the ongoing violence has led to the deaths of over 23,000 Palestinians in Gaza, as reported by the local government under Hamas control.
