Hezbollah, a Lebanese group, has claimed responsibility for launching 62 rockets towards northern Israel as a retaliatory measure for the assassination of Hamas leader, Saleh Al-Arouri, in its stronghold in Dahieh, south of Beirut.
Israeli media outlets reported that sirens were heard in numerous settlements on Saturday morning. According to sources, sirens were activated in 94 Israeli towns due to concerns of drone infiltration and rocket attacks.
Shortly after, an Israeli military spokesperson confirmed the reports, stating that 40 rockets were fired at a military intelligence headquarters. In response, the Israeli Defense Forces conducted an artillery attack on areas in southern Lebanon.
It is important to note that the Israeli military initiated its war against Hamas following an attack on October 7, which resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,200 Israelis and other nationals, as well as the hostage-taking of several individuals.
The ongoing Israeli military campaign has tragically claimed the lives of over 22,600 people in Palestine, including innocent children and women. In the midst of this conflict, Hezbollah has intervened by launching rockets from Lebanon, pledging to defend the interests of Hamas.
