Another politician, Mr Val Ozigbo, narrowly escaped the attack. The incident occurred when Uba’s convoy encountered the gunmen stationed at UGA junction, resulting in a shootout.
Fortunately, Uba managed to escape unharmed due to his bulletproof vehicle. However, the police officers accompanying him were not as fortunate.
Ozigbo, who was traveling with his family, noticed the aggressive driving of another convoy and quickly moved aside to let them pass.
Shortly after, the gunmen attacked the convoy that Ozigbo had encountered, resulting in the deaths of two policemen.
The motive behind the attack was believed to be a kidnapping attempt on the politician. The police have launched a manhunt for the attackers, who are suspected to have infiltrated from a neighboring state.
