Gunmen launch attack on bank and police station in Abuja, resulting in three fatalities

Bandit-like gunmen stormed the Abaji Divisional Police headquarters in Abuja and looted a nearby commercial bank branch.

About fifteen attackers broke into the police building and the bank at the same time on Thursday night at around five o’clock.

Two of the suspects and a police officer perished in the incident, according to Obasanjonews.com.

According to SP Josephine Adeh, the Public Relations Officer for the Federal Capital Territory Police, who verified the unpleasant event to Obasanjonews.com on Friday, command personnel engaged the armed individuals in a gunfight as part of a joint operation with the military, resulting in the deaths.

The PPRO said that the security personnel detained three people, among them a suspected gang leader known only as Usman.

Information surfaced that one of the slain suspects’ bodies was set on fire by enraged local mobs.
