Mrs. Victoria Chimtex, the female head of the Labour Party in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State, was killed by unidentified gunmen.
The shooters who broke into her home at around 8 o’clock on Monday night and opened fire on her were claimed to have murdered her.
According to reports, the victim’s spouse was also shot and was taken directly to the hospital.
The victim was a highly diligent and obedient woman leader of the party in the Kaura Local Government Area, according to Peter Hassan, Chairman of the Labour Party in Kaduna, who spoke to Channels Television about the event.
Hassan revealed that the deceased was shot many times in her leg and spinal cord, instantly killing her.
He said that the shooters turned down the victim’s husband’s offer of money in exchange for their saving her life.
Three years ago, Salome Abuh, a woman leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was shot and set on fire at her home in Kogi State’s Ofu Local Government Area.
In March 2021, a High Court in Idah, Kogi State, found one of the suspects, Ocholi Edicha, guilty of culpable homicide and sentenced him to 12 years and 6 months in jail.
