Gunmen kill teacher, abduct children in Nasarawa school attack

Gunmen have killed a primary school teacher and abducted children in Nasarawa. Learn more about the devastating attack and the community’s response.

Yakubu Mohammed, a primary school teacher from Lokogoma community in Gadabuke District of Toto Local Government Area in Nasarawa State, was tragically killed by bandits who shot him.

On Friday night at approximately midnight, an incident took place in which two of Mohammed’s offspring and a total of seven individuals were kidnapped, among them being two females.

Amidst the attack, it was reported that a woman had been shot and sustained injuries from bullets. The heinous act has left the community in disbelief and apprehension while there is still an ongoing effort to find those who were abducted.

DSP Ramhan Nansel, the State Police Public Relations Officer has confirmed the incident and stated on Tuesday that an investigation into the attack is underway at Nasarawa State Police Command.

The public was assured that steps are being taken to save the abducted individuals and hold the offenders accountable.

Nansel confirmed that the incident did occur, and an investigation has been initiated. There are ongoing efforts to rescue those affected by it and apprehend those responsible for it.
