Prof. Onje Gye-wado, a former deputy governor of Nasarawa State, has been taken hostage by daredevil assailants.
Onje Gye-wado, a former deputy governor of the state who served under Abdullahi Adamu’s administration, was reportedly kidnapped in the early hours of Friday when the attackers entered Gwagi village in the state’s Wamba Local Government Area. Obasanjonews24 got this information.
The development was confirmed to Obasanjonews24 by DSP Ramhan Nansel, Public Relations Officer for the Nasarawa State Police.
According to him, the state’s police chief, CP Maiyaki Baba, has organized and sent out “reinforcement comprising Police tactical teams, the military, vigilantes, and local hunters” to save the victim’s life.
The PPRO claims that the armed men broke into the victim’s home at around 12:30 in the morning and shot erratically before escorting him to an unidentified location.
