An incident in Awka, the state capital, involved the fatal shooting of an official from the Anambra Road Traffic Management Agency (ARTMA), as reported by Obasanjonews.com.
This tragic event occurred shortly after another individual fell victim to armed assailants at Aroma junction on Wednesday evening.
According to a witness, the ARTMA official was gunned down near a motor park where vehicles transport passengers between Awka and Nnewi.

The source recounted that the victim had attempted to stop a group of individuals driving a Toyota Sienna with tinted windows, only to be shot by them before they fled the scene.
While there have been instances of cult-related violence in Awka following the Easter period, it remains uncertain whether the Thursday morning shooting was linked to such activities.
The Anambra State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, had not issued a statement regarding the incident at the time of compiling this report.
