Along the dilapidated Naka road in Benue State, thirteen passengers in a van owned by the state, Benue Links, were reportedly abducted by gunmen.
A similar aspect is that, according to our correspondent, a man, his wife, and their driver were kidnapped on Monday morning while driving the same Naka route.
Witnesses claim that on Thursday, while riding the Benue Links bus through the Gwer West Local Government Area of the state, passengers were ambushed by armed men in Tyolaha village when they were travelling from Otukpo to Makurdi via the Naka route.

Only three of the bus’s sixteen occupants, according to a witness, managed to escape the gunmen who led the other passengers into the woods.
The incident, which was reported to have occurred at Tyolaha Ahume community on Naka-Makurdi road on November 9, 2023, had grown to be a regular occurrence.
In a phone interview with our correspondent, Comrade Alexander Fanafa, the acting general manager of Benue Links, acknowledged that crooks had taken over a company bus on Naka road.
Fanafa, nevertheless, claimed he was unaware of the incident’s specifics.
When reached, SP Catherine Anene, the spokesman for the Benue Police Command, would not answer calls or texts sent through her phone.
