Gunmen claim life of bank worker in Edo

In Benin City, Edo State, a staff member of a new generation bank known only as Mr. Nosa is said to have been murdered by suspected cultists.

According to information obtained by Obasanjonews.com, the event occurred at Government Reservation Area, GRA, Benin City, last Thursday after work ended.

According to reports, the deceased received a call while he was working in his workplace, presumably from a friend inviting him to hang out at a joint.

According to a source who discussed the situation under anonymity, the attackers ambushed the dead as he was travelling to the location and then opened fire on him.

He claimed the victim was taken to a hospital and later declared dead.

Chidi Nwabuzor, the Edo State Police Command’s public relations officer, confirmed the occurrence when called.

“Yes, that is a tragic situation; the Command verified it. However, the situation is still being looked at, the police spokesperson stated.

He promised that those responsible will face consequences.
