Gunmen Attack in Sokoto: Policeman and Vigilante Killed

A recent attack in Sokoto has resulted in the deaths of a policeman and a vigilante. Discover the circumstances surrounding this incident.

According to reports, during a patrol early Monday morning in Sokoto State, one policeman and a vigilante were allegedly killed by gunmen.

At Kwanan Milgoma, the attack transpired along the Sokoto-Bodinga road at approximately 3 a.m.

Despite the unavailability of the Sokoto Police Command spokesman for comment, a senior police officer verified the occurrence while preferring to remain anonymous.

According to the officer’s report, the operatives stationed at a checkpoint were attacked by assailants driving a white Hilux. The attackers unleashed gunfire, which killed both the policeman and vigilante on duty. Moreover, they escaped with two AK-47 rifles from the scene of crime.

The corpses of the victims were transported to Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital’s mortuary.
