Gunmen Attack in Imo Leaves 7 Community Leaders Dead
Gunmen’s attack in Imo results in the deaths of seven community leaders, highlighting the urgent need for security measures.
Gunmen launched a devastating attack on Saturday night, targeting Umucheke Okwe – an autonomous community in the Onuimo Local Government Area of Imo State.
Sadly, among those who lost their lives were Hyginus Ohazuruike (the president general) and six other prominent community leaders.
During a meeting held at the Ohazuruike premises, an attack took place as disclosed by a source who spoke to Leadership Sunday.

According to the source, a horrifying incident unfolded at Ohazuruike’s shop as seven men convened. Suddenly, an unidentified vehicle screeched up to their location and armed assailants emerged from it.
The attackers launched into gunfire without any warning or provocation and then swiftly made their getaway in the same vehicle they came in, leaving behind lifeless bodies lying motionlessly on the ground drenched with blood.
The tragic incident was confirmed by Emeka Obi, the only administrator of Onuimo Local Government Area. He assured that measures are being taken to bring back order and normalcy in the community.
