On Saturday morning, gunmen assaulted the town of Isuofia in the Aguata Local Government Area, where Chukwuma Soludo, the governor of Anambra State, was born.

According to sources, a ferocious gunfight between the attackers and the soldiers stationed in the neighbourhood claimed the lives of no less than two soldiers and four hoodlums.

A report claims that the thugs first assaulted the troops at an army checkpoint, killing two of them, before the soldiers took after and murdered four of the attackers.

Tochukwu Ikenga, the public relations officer for the Anambra State Police Command, and Paul Nwosu, the state’s commissioner for information, both acknowledged the occurrence in a statement.
Ikenga said that a police agent had been sent to the location and that order had been restored, while Nwosu asked locals to notify security personnel of any security lapses.

The Nigerian Army checkpoint at Afor-Uzo Junction, Isuofia, was attacked by a group of gunmen, according to Nwosu. The thugs met their Waterloo, which is a shame.

“After giving them a close pursuit, our brave and observant security officers swiftly exchanged gunfire with them, neutralizing four of the gang members. The Toyota Avanza they used to start the horrific operation was found.

The administration of Anambra State wants to reassure the populace of their safety, particularly during this holiday season, he continued. Please alert our vigilant security personnel if you see anything to help them better protect you.
