The All Progressive Congress (APC) chapter in Zamfara State claims that the purpose of the leaked bribery recording that has been making the rounds on social media is to harm the party’s reputation.

This was said in a statement by Yusuf Idris Gusau, the State’s APC publicity secretary.

“It should be made categorically clear that Anas Sani Anka is not a card carrying member or a good supporter of the APC in any way,” he stated in the statement.

He was unable to speak on behalf of the APC because he is not a member of the executive committee and has never held a political position in the APC administration.

“It is our firm view that the PDP is stepping up efforts to sabotage the process after observing how the Tribunal processes are currently progressing, which suggests that the APC is probably going to reclaim its mandate.

“Respected Senator Abdul Aziz Yari, from whom Anas claimed to have obtained money, has been abroad for a considerable amount of time.

The PDP must understand that the Nigerian judiciary cannot be intimidated by the baseless accusations put out by the PDP through Anas because their strategy is exposed and will fail.

All relevant security agencies were encouraged by Yusuf Idris Gusau to “uncover all those responsible for this cowardly act, including the person who made the recording.”

“Let the PDP know that the judicial system is an autonomous entity, and that no amount of abuse or intimidation will stop it from delivering justice to all Nigerian citizens, regardless of their party or religious affiliation.

We are requesting that our followers in the state maintain their composure because we believe that justice will be served to us by the Nigerian judicial system, he said.
