The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for Kogi State, Senator Dino Melaye, feels that certain opposition parties wanted him to come in third in Saturday’s governorship race. The election is scheduled for November 11.
He asserted that what transpired on Saturday was a vote distribution rather than an election.
With 446,237 votes, Ododo defeated his closest rival, Social Democratic Party candidate Murtala Ajaka, who garnered 259,052 votes, and Melaye, who received 46,362 votes.
During a Monday appearance on Channels Television’s “Politics Today,” the PDP candidate brought up these points.
“Dino Melaye must not come second because if he comes second, it’s dangerous,” the speaker stated at a meeting. Thus, he needs to drop to a distant third. Votes were only distributed; there was no election.
Melaye pointed out that votes in the eastern region of the state went to Ajaka, the SDP candidate.
He compared his situation to the presidential election that took place on February 25 and claimed that the Labour Party’s win in Lagos State was “deliberate.”
Normally, Ajaka shouldn’t be happy that he won one, two, or three local governments in the East, Melaye said. It was assigned.
“Labour was given Lagos.”
“Labour should not think they won [in] Lagos; it was deliberate,” Melaye continued. The maths was completed. The maths was completed.
He stated, “The issue of voting or not voting has no legal status.” in reference to not casting his ballot. Elections are won by inmates.
It is irrelevant to the election legally. Whether I cast a ballot or not doesn’t matter.
