Guardiola praises the Man City teenager as “one of the best players I’ve ever coached” in the UCL
Rico Lewis has been regarded by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola as one of the best players he has ever worked with.
Lewis was a major contributor to City’s 3-1 victory over RB Leipzig in the Champions League.
The 18-year-old put up a strong performance as the hosts kept up their successful start to their campaign on the continent.
What a player!,” exclaimed Guardiola, who has previously worked with players like Lionel Messi, Xavi, and Andres Iniesta. What a jerk!
“I’ve had the good fortune to coach one of the finest players in the world at Barcelona for 14, 15 years as a manager.
“He is one of the best players I’ve ever trained,” the coach said. “To find a player like him playing in the pockets, how he has to move as a holding midfielder, moving in the spaces.”
