GTBank reacts to a recent hacking incident, assuring customers that their data remains safe and secure.
GTBank, a leading financial institution in Nigeria, has provided assurance to its customers that their information is still safeguarded despite an attack aimed at breaching the bank’s domain.
On Wednesday night, the bank’s website experienced inaccessibility which raised concerns among customers about a possible hacking occurrence.
On Thursday, GTBank issued a statement clarifying that the episode was not related to website cloning but instead an isolated effort to manipulate the domain.

According to the bank, customer data was never endangered as they declared: “The information of our customers is not kept on our website; therefore, no violation regarding any client’s details has occurred.”
GTBank provided its customers and stakeholders with additional reassurance that the website has not been duplicated, thereby ensuring their information remains secure.
The statement persisted, stating that our devoted crew of Information Security Professionals is tirelessly laboring to reinstate domain configurations. Additionally, we promise our customers that the website will be back online soon.
The customers were encouraged by the bank to disregard any deceptive statements and reminded of its pledge towards safeguarding customer information.
