The Southern Kaduna Renewed Hope Movement, or SKRHM, has urged Governor Uba Sani to make sure that appointments and the division of duties within his administration are made with fairness, equity, and careful thought.

Speaking to reporters in Kaduna on Tuesday, the group’s national coordinator, Yusuf Kanhu, urged Governor Sani to review his selection policy in order to give Southern Kaduna residents and Christians a voice in his administration.

The group criticised the governor’s most recent nominations, claiming that they did not adequately reflect Kaduna State’s diverse population, particularly in terms of religious and regional diversity.

The National Coordinator stated, “In the last three sets of appointees, there has been an apparent imbalance, with a larger proportion of Muslims and a smaller proportion of Christians being appointed.”

Only three of the 14 Commissioners, in his estimation, are Christians; the rest are Muslims.

While appreciating the Governor’s attempts to appoint a few people from Southern Kaduna, he stated that more should be done to include people who helped the All Progressives Congress, APC, rise in positions of strategic importance.
