Group Challenges Wike to Woo Tinubu into PDP

A political group has urged Nyesom Wike to convince President Bola Tinubu to defect to the PDP, sparking fresh political debates. Read more on the challenge.
The PDP Frontiers for Change and Progress has called on Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to persuade President Bola Tinubu to become a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). They believe this action would demonstrate the Minister’s dedication to their party.
On Tuesday in Umuahia, the group responded to a statement attributed to the FCT Minister, where he reportedly criticized Adolphus Wabara, Chairman of PDP Board of Trustees (BoT), for commending Abia State Governor Alex Otti’s accomplishments.
Emeka Ikpegbu, the National Coordinator of the group, stated that Wabara did nothing wrong in attempting to persuade Governor Alex Otti to join the PDP. He also challenged the former River State Governor to prove his unwavering loyalty to the party by convincing President Bola Tinubu to become a member as well.
Wike should first bring his principal, President Bola Tinubu—whom he praises daily—to the PDP before advising us on anti-party activities.
Is there any example of anti-party behavior worse than a former Governor and presidential hopeful from the PDP serving as a Minister under the APC? How often has Wike publicly praised President Tinubu without facing any consequences for his actions against party interests?
He questioned why he is now beginning to lecture them on sanctioning members for anti-party activities.
The group urged Wike to refrain from interfering with Wabara and the PDP governors. They also praised the governors and the party’s Board of Trustees for their steadfast position during Rivers State’s political crisis, as well as for upholding Sunday Ude-Okoye’s appointment as National Secretary in accordance with the Enugu Court of Appeal ruling.
The group that forecasted a brighter future for the PDP in 2027 encouraged loyal party members to stand against any efforts to intimidate individuals working towards rescuing and strengthening the party.
