The 73-year-old grandmother in Ondo State who lit her son Victor, daughter-in-law Rachel, and her two grandchildren on fire has passed away.
After the event in the Aponmu village in the state’s Akure South Local Government Area, the elderly woman, Iforiti, passed away two weeks later.
Some claim that the grandmother, who was considered a witch in the neighbourhood, was also impacted by the fire.
She was allegedly locked up in one of the rooms by her kids five days after the event, at which point she was sent to the hospital for treatment.
Iforiti was being treated at the hospital when she passed away, allegedly confessing to wanting to kill just her daughter-in-law for starving her.
She claims she had no idea how this would affect her son and grandchildren.
Remember that Iforiti is accused of setting the house on fire when the family was sound asleep?
The family of four was saved by several neighbours who entered the home through the window, and they were then transferred to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo.
The son and his wife passed away when they got to the hospital, while the kids were still being treated.
