Festus Okoye, the INEC National Commissioner for Voter Education, announced the date of the polls in a statement on Wednesday night.

There are rumours that the gubernatorial and State Assembly elections have been delayed by the Independent National Election Commission, or INEC.

According to reports, the exercise originally set for Saturday, March 11, was delayed to Saturday, March 18.

As of Wednesday night at 10:00 p.m., National Commissioner for Information Festus Okoye did not answer calls from Obasanjonews24.

The electoral umpire is under heavy fire for not being adequately ready for the general elections in 2023.

The Court of Appeal earlier today granted INEC’s request to modify the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, or BVAS, in advance of the state elections.

There is no cause for worry, according to a source inside the Labour Party, LP, over Peter Obi’s appeal against INEC’s request.

“We have been given permission to examine BVAS. There is now no issue because the contents are backed up, the insider told Obasanjonews24.
