Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to expedite the release of the forensic reports regarding the alleged Dollar video clip involving the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a former governor of Kano State, Dr Umar Abdullahi Ganduje.
Governor Yusuf believes that the release of the forensic report will finally put an end to Ganduje’s claims. Additionally, Governor Yusuf stated that Ganduje’s eight-year tenure was marked by failure and mismanagement.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf accused Ganduje of diverting attention from his own corruption and political violence by criticizing the present Kano State government. Governor Yusuf emphasized that his administration’s eight months in office have far surpassed Ganduje’s eight years of ineffective governance.
He advised Ganduje to focus on defending himself in court rather than further damaging his reputation in the media. Governor Yusuf also highlighted that Ganduje’s corruption has brought shame to the people of Kano, and no amount of media campaigns can prevent him from being held accountable for his actions.
The statement reiterated the commitment of the present administration to ensure that anyone found guilty of corruption faces the full consequences of the law. The Kano government expressed its determination to thoroughly investigate the dollar video scandal and bring it to a satisfactory resolution.
