Governor Yusuf refutes engaging in physical altercation with SSG

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has refuted claims of engaging in a physical altercation with the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, which allegedly resulted in his removal from office.

During a speech delivered after the swearing-in ceremony of several government officials, Governor Yusuf dismissed the rumors as baseless and foolish.

It has been circulating within the state that Governor Yusuf and Bichi had a physical confrontation leading to the latter’s dismissal. However, it was reported that the SSG had traveled to Egypt for medical treatment, prompting the appointment of the State Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa, as the acting SSG until Bichi’s return.

Governor Yusuf expressed his frustration with individuals who engage in spreading false information for political gain, emphasizing that such attempts have failed. He clarified that the SSG is currently recovering from his illness and will soon resume his duties.
