Along with Rema’s admirers and coworkers, Godwin Obaseki of Edo State is wishing him a speedy recovery.
Obasanjo remembers that the “Calm Down” crooner announced he would not be playing anyplace in December owing to health concerns. Originally, he was supposed to tour Benin, Lagos, and Abuja.
Governor Obeseki responded on Thursday via his X (formerly Twitter) page, saying that the people of Edo are proud of Rema and will always stand with him.

He pointed out that the Edo native’s incredible achievement of selling out London’s O2 Arena and accumulating 1.6 billion Spotify plays this year not only demonstrates his outstanding talent but also opens the eyes of upcoming creatives.
“My Rema @heisrema, your extraordinary accomplishments over the years fill us with immense pride and joy,” wrote Obaseki.
“Your accomplishments demonstrate your extraordinary talent, from selling out the O2 Arena to amassing an impressive 1.6 billion streams of music.” Numerous young creatives look up to them as they show them what’s possible.
