Governor Namadi Approves Over N3.4 Billion Payment to Retirees
Governor Namadi has approved the disbursement of over N3.4 billion to retirees, ensuring timely pension payments and financial relief for former state employees.
Approved by Governor Umar Namadi, a sum of more than N3.4 billion will be paid to 1,331 individuals. This payout is intended for those who retired from active duty after reaching thirty-five years of service between January and July of this year as well as individuals who passed away while still serving their duties.
The Director of Administration and Finance of the Scheme, Nasiru Haruna, signed a statement released to OBASANJONEWS.
As per the declaration, a division was made into four categories regarding the payment. The initial group of 1001 former employees who retired either after rendering 35 years of service or attaining sixty years by birth received N2,579,605,965.12 Billion as remuneration.”

The 241 employees belonging to the second group passed away while serving, and their kin will receive N730,367,087.60 million as compensation. Meanwhile, the third set includes 84 retirees who began receiving monthly pensions but unfortunately died prior to completing five years since retirement; these individuals are due for a payment of N109,561,313.67 million.
The most recent group of beneficiaries included an individual who had not made contributions for a duration of five years. According to the regulation, in order to be eligible for payment from the program, all employees must have contributed consistently for at least five years.
We have paid a total of N2,705,459.02 million including 15% interest to one person in this category.
The acting Executive Secretary cautioned the retirees against involving a third party in their retirement benefits processing.
The release of N3.422 billion by Governor Malam Umar Namadi to the Jigawa State and Local Governments Contributory Pension Scheme Board in order to pay off outstanding Gratuities and death benefits owed to 1,331 retirees within the state was praised by Haruna.
