Prominent APC figure accused of assault in Kano

Abdulmajid Commander, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, was attacked and physically assaulted.

The politician was seen getting handcuffed and flogged by unknown individuals in a video that went viral.

After identifying himself, the Commander was questioned by his assailants about criticizing Governor Uba Sani despite not being a native of Kaduna State.

Despite the occasional lashings, Commander’s voice could be heard stating, “I am experiencing a heart issue.”

The Commander proclaimed that the governor was responsible for sending individuals to physically harm him while he shared his unpleasant experience.

Governor Uba Sani dispatched them to assault me. I am familiar with a few of the attackers and aware of where they procured the handcuffs. My hands and back exhibit proof in their bumps and abrasions.

He recounted, “It was a group of police officers who carried out the deed under the direction of Uba Sani. Threats were made to end my life and dispose of me in water. They filmed themselves inflicting physical harm and degradation upon me causing unimaginable humiliation.”

After the development, however, the Kaduna State Government issued a statement stating that it had ordered an inquiry into the video clip.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Muhammad Lawal Shehu, signed the statement.
