Prof. Mobolaji Aluko, the state commissioner for infrastructure and public utilities in Ekiti, has informed the people of Ekiti that enhanced and reliable sanitation, hygiene, and water supply will be available to them.
When a team from the Federal Programme Implementation Unit arrived in Ado-Ekiti on a technical support mission, Prof. Aluko gave them the guarantee.
According to him, the state government is already working to address the issue of the state’s inconsistent electrical supply, which he described as a key component in maintaining adequate water supply.
Electricity, he said, is a major factor in determining whether attempts to give people with access to drinkable water are successful or unsuccessful.
During his remarks, Abdulhameed Gwaram, the National Programme Coordinator, stated that the visit’s main goal was to address important risks and problems that can impair effectiveness and performance.
He recommended implementing agencies to contact the State Programme Implementation Unit (SPIU) and Federal Programme Implementation Unit (FPIU) for help whenever necessary.
He emphasised the significance placed on the final product, the number of beneficiaries, and the procedures the Independent Verification Agency would follow for clearing and disbursement, emphasising the necessity for Implementing Agencies to complete adequate documentation of every activity carried out under the programme.
