The appeal was made by James Iorpu, executive secretary of the State Emergency and Management Agency, SEMA, during the normal monthly distribution exercise in Makurdi.
The relief supplies, according to Iorpu, are not narcotics that ought to be snatched and taken.

Aondowase Kunde, the commissioner for disaster and humanitarian affairs, also gave the IDPs assurances about the government’s intention to resettling them quickly.
He gave the people of Benue the assurance that the administration was reviving their socioeconomic circumstances with ease.
In order to determine the precise number of IDPs in Benue, certain international organisations were conducting biometric exercises in partnership with the state administration and other partners, Kunde informed the public.
