The death of Ogochukwu Anene, who was allegedly murdered by her husband, Wilson Uwadiegwu, is being investigated by the Anambra State Government.
During a meeting with the deceased’s mother, Mrs. Cordelia Anene, on Wednesday in her office in Awka, Ify Obinabo, Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, said:
Her husband murdered Ada Awka, also known as Ogochukwu Anene, over a loaf of bread.
Obinabo claimed that in order to achieve justice, the state government was working with the Enugu government on the probe.
Because the person who died was from Anambra, the state government was not going to keep quiet about the sad situation.
The commissioner promised that the authorities would make sure the investigation was thorough and finished on time.
Obinabo advised women in abusive relationships to never be afraid to speak up and seek help rather than dying in silence.
Madam Cordelia, who was grieving, claimed that the husband left right away after doing the act.
