Dayyabu Haladu, a casual employee at the State Pilgrims Welfare Board, has been awarded a permanent and pensionable employment by Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf after she returned $16,000 that went missing during the most recent Hajj operation in Saudi Arabia.

This is stated in a statement his press secretary, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, made to journalists in Kano on Tuesday.

The statement claims that the Governor also gave Haladu a gift of N1 million and a guaranteed spot to enable him to participate in the upcoming Hajj.

According to the article, Governor Yusuf revealed the gesture when accepting the board’s report for the 2023 Hajj.

He thanked the temp worker for exhibiting self-satisfaction and added that such attitude was admirable and should be imitated by everyone.

“Despite being a casual employee with a meagre salary, this individual was able to recover the misplaced funds.

He declared, “It demonstrates how this person has fear of Allah and he deserves to be honoured.”

The governor advised Kano residents to uphold the state’s well-deserved reputation by exemplifying the values of dependability, self-control, and contentment so that they might lead happy lives.

Despite the nation’s current economic difficulties, Haladu claimed that he returned the missing money to the state Pilgrims Welfare Board out of fear of Allah and with the knowledge that it was improper for him to utilise something that did not belong to him.

He expressed his gratitude to the governor for the kindness and called it the finest day of his life.

Recall that a commercial tricycle rider in the state recently, Auwalu Salisu, garnered praise and gifts, including money, from the owner of the lost N16 million, the State House of Assembly, and several grateful members of the public.
